As the sunsets over the Magic Kingdom, a sense of Foreboding settles upon the Magic Kingdom, as guests prepare for a night of frights and delights. In 2024, We had the opportunity to set our Spooky Vibes free at 2 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Parties. The First Party that we attended was on August 23, 2024. The Second Party that we attended was on October 18, 2024. We thoroughly enjoyed both parties and got to do Lots of Fun and Exciting Experiences, even though our First Party was cut short due to pouring rain. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
What is Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party?
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party or MNSSHP, is a Special Ticketed Events held on Select Nights at the Magic Kingdom. This Party has been held in the Magic Kingdom park since 1995. The dates for each year are usually released in Late Spring to Early Summer. Parties have been being held on Select Nights from August through October. Some years Walt Disney World will choose to host a Party on November 1st, but not every year.
Tickets Prices vary based on the Night you will be attending, with the most expensive night usually being Halloween Night, October 31st. Walt Disney World Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members maybe eligible for a Discount on Tickets on Select Nights. Most Parties do sell out, with Halloween Night usually selling out first and quickly. Guests visiting the Magic Kingdom on a Party day, that do not purchase tickets to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, will have to leave the park by 7:00 pm. If these Guests are still in the park after 7:00 pm for any reason, they will be asked to leave and escorted to the entrance of the park by Cast Members.
Entering Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2024
Guests with a Valid Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Ticket can enter the Magic Kingdom at 4:00 pm on their party day , without having to purchase a day ticket. The Official Party Hours, which are the Hours of the Party Exclusive Offerings, are from 7:00 pm to Midnight. The Entrance Lines for the Party start at the Magic Kingdom turnstiles , and can be extremely long. Guests start lining up for the 4:00 pm entry as early as 2:00 pm. If you are going to wait in the Entrance Line, make sure to have plenty of drink because it gets very hot at the entrance gates, and there are limited to no options for drinks, or shade. You will need to have your party tickets ready to be scanned at the entrance, in order to enter the party and get your party wristband. These Wristbands change colors nightly, which is how the Cast Members know what Guests have party tickets for that night.
In 2024, we had purchased Annual Passes and choose to enter the park before 4:00 pm using our Passes, so that we could avoid the entrance lines. We were able to ride a few rides, before getting in line at 1 of the 3 locations in the Magic Kingdom, where we could get our party wristbands. We choose to get our Wristbands from the distribution area near Mickey’s Philharmagic for both 2024 parties.
Guests of all ages are allowed to wear costumes during Party Hours, if they choose to. Be sure to check on the Costume Guidelines, before deciding on a costume.
Decorations
The Magic Kingdom comes to life in the Fall as Autumn Leaves and Carved Pumpkins begin to arrive in early August. As the sun goes down and the lights come on, the fall evening arrives to encompass the party with Glowing Jack-o-Laterns, Flickering Lights, and Flying Ghosts. You will find Special Lighting and Decorations all around the Park. Be sure to check out the Market Street for some Special Party Exclusive Decorations. In 2024, these Exclusive Decorations were Bronze Statues of some of Disney’s Popular Characters in their Halloween Costumes.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2024 Dining and Treats
Walt Disney World is known for it’s Unique and Themed Food, Snacks, and Treats. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party was not exception in 2024. In addition to some of the standard and familiar offerings, you could find such treats as Chocolate-Caramel Tart, and Madame Leota Sẽance Candle. Not all treats are available at all dining locations. Not all Dining Locations are open in the Magic Kingdom during the Party. Be sure to check the My Disney Experience App for Information on what dining locations are open during the party and what their hours are. Walt Disney World will also offer some speciality Fall Treats and Snacks during normal park hours.
In 2024, we choose to not try any of the party exclusive snacks and treats. We did have a Mickey-shaped Sugar Cookie, Peanut M&M’s, and the Mardi Gras Melody Popcorn. We purchased all of these snacks from the Main Street Confectionary. Daddy tried the Mardi Gras Melody Popcorn inspired by “The Princess and the Frog”. He was glad to have tried it, but said he did not feel like he was likely to get it again. Daddy and Mama both enjoyed their Peanut M&M’s. I had the Mickey-shaped Sugar Cookie. I thought the cookie was good and soft and would definitely get one again.
On August 23, 2024, we decided to have a Late Breakfast at Chef Mickey’s, which we really enjoyed. You can read our full Chef Mickey’s Breakfast Review by Clicking Here. On October 18, 2024, we felt the island vibes calling and answered by having Breakfast at ‘Ohana.
Trick-or-Treating
Age is just a number at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and Guests of all ages are welcome to participate in Trick-or-Treating. That is right, upon receiving your party wristband, you will be directed on where to go to get your Party Map and Trick-or-Treat Bag as well as 1st piece of candy. From there you are free to visit as many or few of the trick-or-treat stop as you would like during the party. Some Trick-or-Treat stops may close earlier than others.
During the 2024 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, there were 6 Trick-or-Treat stops spread throughout the park. The Candy given out was Mars Wrigley Candy Products, such as M&M’s, Snickers, and Starburst. For Guests with Food Allergies, let the Cast Member know when you get your candy bag and they will give you a special bag so that you can receive treats that work with your Food Allergies. Some Trick-or-Treating Stops in 2024 featured Characters Sightings in the queue.
We choose not to do much trick-or-treating in 2024. However, in years past, we have easily filled up our candy bags with only 3-4 stops. We also recommend considering bringing a larger bag to put your collected candy in, because the bags from Walt Disney World are extremely cute, but can fill up quickly if you will be doing a lot of trick-or-treating.
Attractions
Most Magic Kingdom Attractions are available to experience during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Some Attractions may have shorter wait times than during a regular park visit, but this is not guaranteed. Some Attractions may have Party Exclusive Halloween Overlays. In 2024, these attractions were the Mad Tea Party, Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor, and Space Mountain.
We did not do any attractions during our 2024 parties. We choose to focus on Party Exclusive Experiences.

Merchandise at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in 2024
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has some awesome Party Exclusive Merchandise. Most Party Exclusive Merchandise can only be found in the Emporium or Star Traders. It is only available during Party Hours, while supplies last. In 2024, the Party Exclusive Merchandise included a T-Shirt, a Spirit Jersey, an Ornament, and Pins. They also offered Exclusive Party Merchandise just for Annual Passholders.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will usually offer at least 1 exclusive popcorn bucket per party season. In 2024, they offered 3 exclusive popcorn buckets: Mickey Mouse in his Pumpkin Outfit, Scary Teddy from “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas”, and Vampire Stitch. We choose to only get the Mickey Mouse in his Pumpkin Outfit popcorn bucket.
Characters
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a Wonderful Opportunity for the Young and Young at Heart to meet Characters. Be on the lookout because you never know who you might see. It could be Rare Characters like Abu, Genie, Jafar, the Queen of Hearts, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, Cruella DeVille (Mama’s Favorite), among others. You may also see some Characters that are more easily found in their party exclusive Halloween Costumes, like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Stitch, and More.
Not all Characters will have a standard meet and greet line, some you will only be able to interact and get pictures with from a distance. Most Character Meet and Greets will also have Long Lines due to them being Rare Characters or Exclusive Halloween Costumes. Some Characters Meet and Greets will also stop during parade times.
Characters We Saw during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2024
During the August 23, 2024 Halloween Party, we saw Mickey Mouse in his new Halloween Costume. He was meeting in the Town Square Theater and looked Dashing in his new Tuxedo. We got in line to meet Mickey at 6:31 pm and had meet him by 7:15 pm.
During the October 18, 2024 Halloween Party, we saw the Queen of Hearts in route to her meet and greet location, as well as Winnie the Pooh and Friends. While walking through Liberty Square, we saw a short line and decided to investigate. Upon getting closer to the line, we saw that meeting in the Liberty Square Gazebo was Mirabel and Bruno (who we do not talk about) from “Encanto”. We got in line at approximately 9:08 pm and had met them by 9:20 pm. We also saw the Hitchhiking Ghosts while in Frontierland. They made appearances from the Balcony near the Country Bear Musical Jamboree. While you could not take traditional pictures with them, we were able to get some good selfies and video.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2024 Exclusive Photo Ops and Magic Shots
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is filled with many Exclusive Photo Ops and Magic Shots.
Interactive Photo Frames
There are some Interactive Photo Frames that are located around the park. These Frames are out during the day as well as at night, and not all of these frames will have a Disney PhotoPass Photographer at them. Each of these frames are themed to different movies. Some of the 2024 theming included “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea”, “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow”, and “Hocus Pocus 2”.
Magic Shots
Walt Disney World PhotoPass Photographers have special magic shots year-round. Some of these Magic Shots change seasonally and not all magic shots are available at all PhotoPass Locations. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party also has it’s own exclusive Magic Shots. Most of these are located on Main Street, U.S.A., however, sometimes there will be additional exclusive Magic Shots in other parts of the park, such as in front of the Haunted Mansion, or near the Adventureland Bridge Archway. In 2024, we were able to get many exclusive magic shots, including 1 featuring Yzma from The Emperor’s New Groove, as well as 1 featuring the Ghosts from the Disney Cartoon, “Lonesome Ghosts” (My Favorite).
During the 2024 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Guests also had the opportunity to have their pictures taken by Disney PhotoPass Photographers with special Halloween Props, such as a sign for Mickey’s “Boo-To-You” Parade.

Party Exclusive Shows and Entertainment
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party features some of the most popular Party Exclusive Shows and Entertainment at Walt Disney World.
Mickey’s “Boo-To-You” Halloween Parade
The Parade was held 2 times a night in 2024. It featured some friendly faces in their Halloween costumes such as Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Jasmine, Mad Hatter, Aladdin, and More. It also featured such nefarious villains as Lady Tremaine, Ursula, Dr. Facilier, Evil Queen, and Maleficent. Plus, we got to see Captain Barbosa onboard the Black Pearl with Jack Sparrow, and the highly sought-after Grave Diggers. Due to the weather on August 23, 2024, we were unable to see Mickey’s “Boo-To-You” Parade, however we did get to see it 2 times on October 18, 2024. The first parade we saw started at approximately 8:15 pm. We choose to watch this parade from Frontierland. Our Parade viewing spot was located in front of the Frontier Trading Post and across from the Country Bear Musical Jamboree. The Beginning of the Parade reached our location at approximately 8:21 pm. The second parade we saw started at approximately 11:15 pm. We choose to watch this parade from some rocking chairs on the front porch of the Main Street Theater. The Beginning of the Parade reached our location at approximately 11:38 pm.
Pre-Parade Entertainment
Before the start of Mickey’s “Boo-To-You” Halloween Parade, the lights will dim and the air fills with a sense of foreboding as galloping hooves begin to approach announcing the arrival of the Headless Horseman. He will travel the entire parade route, allowing guests of all ages the chance to catch a glimpse of the Headless Man. This is one of our favorite parts of the parade. The Headless Horseman will only ride, weather permitting. Fun Fact: You can sometimes visit the Headless Horseman’s Horse at the Tri-Circle D Ranch at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground.
For Guests who choose to watch the Parade from the Main Street, U.S.A. and Train Station area, you will be treated to a special appearance by Powerline Max and his Entourage. Guests are invited to stand up and dance with Powerline Max as you are seeing things “Eye to Eye”.
Hocus Pocus Villains Spelltacular
The Show is preformed on the Cinderella’s Castle Forecourt Stage. Hocus Pocus Villains Spelltacular summons some of the most wicked Villains in the Kingdom. And guess who has come back to gather them all together. That’s Right, the Sanderson Sisters are BACK! They are mixing up a nefarious potion that requires them to get help from some Evil Frightful Friends.
This Stage Show will be held multiple times per party, weather permitting. This show was not held during our time at the August 23, 2024 Halloween Party due to Rain. Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular
Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular is the Party Exclusive Fireworks Show. It is visible in the Skies above Cinderella’s Castle. However, There are also projections on the front of Cinderella’s Castle which can only be seen from the Castle Hub area and Main Street, U.S.A. The Spectacular is hosted by Jack Skellington, who appears on Cinderella’s Castle Forecourt Stage. It features the Journey of Mickey and Friends as they get lost in a Spooky Castle. But have no fear, a Special Friend will help them find there way. Dance Parties and More
For Guests looking to get their groove on, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party hosted 2 Dance Parties in 2024: one was held in the lower level of Cosmic Ray’s, while the other dance party was held at the Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland. The Dance Party in Tomorrowland was themed after the 2024 movie, “Descendants: The Rise of Red”. The Dance Party in Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe was themed after Disney Junior and featured such Fan Favorites Characters as Timon (Mama Loves Him), Vampirina, and Doc McStuffin.
As the Skies turn dark, The Dapper Dans Barbershop Quartet turns into The Cadaver Dans Barbershop Quartet. They were preforming in Frontierland, on the Balcony near the Country Bear Musical Jamboree. The Cadaver Dans and the Hitchhiking Ghosts alternated appearance times during the Party. They tell some Cowboy Jokes, and Sing some of their and our Favorite songs, such as Grim Grinning Ghosts. We had the opportunity to see them both before and after the 8:15 pm parade on October 18, 2024. We will definitely see them again at a future Halloween Party, if the opportunity arises.
On the Stage across from Pirates of the Caribbean, you would have the opportunity to hear intermittent performances by Rusty Cutlass. They are a rousing group of buccaneers preforming some swashbuckling tunes, such as a Pirate’s Life for Me. We had the opportunity to see them in 2023, and greatly enjoyed them. You can check out that performance by clicking here. Due to Weather and Timing, we did not get the opportunity to see them in 2024. However, we will definitely see them in the future, if the opportunity arises.
Final Thoughts on Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in 2024
We thoroughly enjoy Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. It features some of our favorite characters, like Cruella DeVille, Mickey Mouse, and Stitch. We love to watch the Exclusive Parade, Fireworks, and Entertainment. While our August 23, 2024 Party was cut short due to rain, we did enjoy our time at the party. We got to experience a lot during our October 18, 2024 Party, and were there from the start of the party until after it’s ending at 12:00 pm.
Our Family has never been able to get everything done in 1 night at the party, and we were unable to get things done in 2 nights in 2024. We could have possibly gotten more done if it had not poured rain during our August 23, 2024 party. But that is 1 of the great things about this party. Between what you did not get done last year and new additions to the party, there is always something new to experience each year.
We will definitely do Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party again, if our visits coincide with party dates.
