We LOVE a Good Burger. We LOVE Good French Fries. On July 19, 2025, we needed to do a little shopping, but wanted to have Lunch before we got started. We decided to venture over to 1720 Burger Bar in Florence, SC. This was our second visit to this restaurant, but is it the Best Burger Place in Florence, SC?

About 1720 Burger Bar
1720 Burger Bar is a Family Owned Restaurant in Florence, South Carolina. It was established in 2011. The Owners of this Restaurant also own Holt Bros BBQ, and The General Dough. This Restaurant is located on Woody Jones Blvd, across the street from the Florence Center. The Restaurant, positioned conveniently near the I-95 and I-20 Interchange, is accessible via the Exit for the Magnolia Mall. The Location makes this a Wonderful Dining Option for Guests traveling on both Interstates as well as those shopping in Florence or attending an Event at the Florence Center. It is one of the few Burger Places in Florence, SC, but does that make it the Best?

Atmosphere
1720 Burger Bar is a Great Sit Down Restaurant. It has a Cozy Environment, that welcomes Guests to sit down, relax, and enjoy there meals. There are Pictures and Posters showcasing memorable Actors and Films as well as Sports Memorabilia adorning the Wood Panel Walls except for on the Wall of Mirrors. You will also find multiple TVs hung throughout the Restaurant, providing Guests with the Option to watch an assortment of channels. Most of the seating in the Restaurant is Large Booths, with a few tables and chairs. The Table Tops feature Salt, Pepper, Ketchup, Mustard, Hot Sauce, and Vinegar in a Metal Tray Holder that showcases the 1720 Burger Bar Logo.

Food
1720 Burger Bar has a Good Size Menu that features Appetizers, Salads, Burgers, Chicken Sandwiches, Entrees, Sides, and Drinks. The House Specialty Item is Tater Bombs, which can be found under Appetizers and Sides on the Menu. They have a Large Variety of Gourmet Burger Options. They do not do Smash Burgers here, which we really liked because we prefer our Burgers to be Thicker. Guests will also find a Hamburger Steak, Philly Cheesesteak, Hawaii Five-0 Chicken Sandwich and Quesadillas along with other options on the menu. Guests who wish to try the BBQ from their sister restaurant, Holt Bros BBQ, can check out the BBQ Sandwich. They serve your food on a Metal Tray, which gives you plenty of room to eat without having to worry about anything falling off of your plate. The Restaurant serves Pepsi Products as well as Iced Tea and Lemonade.
Meal Thoughts

We choose to try the Cheese Sticks as our appetizer. These came in an order of 6 mozzarella sticks. While this was our second visit to 1720 Burger Bar, this was our first time trying the Cheese Sticks. The waitress apologized that the Kitchen took so long preparing them when she brought the Cheese Sticks to the table, but we did not feel like the wait was that bad. The Mozzarella Sticks came breaded and fried. I think the breading was a House Made. They were warm when they arrived at the table. We all enjoyed the Cheese Sticks and felt like they had a Good Flavor. We would get these again in the future, if we wanted an appetizer.

Mama and I both had the Boss Hog Burger and Sweet Tea for our meal. We ordered our Boss Hog Burgers with no cheese and no fried onion straws. On our previous visit, we did get the fried onion straws, but did not enjoy them. They were not fried crispy, and were made of Red Onions. Mama and I both requested that the BBQ Sauce be put on the side and not on our burgers. They did not put the Sauce on our Burgers, however they also did not include it on the side. We choose not to ask about it. Our Boss Hog Burgers came with Grilled Ham and Thick Cut Bacon. The Ham and Bacon both had a Good Flavor. However, the Bacon could have been fried a little crispier. We both liked these Burgers and would probably get them again from here on a future visit.

Daddy had The Daisy Burger and a Diet Pepsi for his meal. He ordered his Daisy Burger with no grilled onions. His Daisy Burger came with House Made Pimento Cheese, and Thick Cut Bacon. Daddy said he really liked this burger, but that he could see where it could be messy. He said that he would consider getting this Burger again on a future visit.

Each of Our Burgers cam with a Side. Mama and Daddy choose House Cut Fries, while I choose Sweet Potato Fries, so we could try both. We shared our Fries and all agreed that we really enjoyed them. Our Family liked the fact that the House Cut Fries are Homemade, which to Us is hard to beat. We even talked about the fact that we could have made a meal off of the House Cut Fries and Sweet Potato Fries alone.
Dessert
1720 Burger Bar does not offer dessert in the traditional sense. They do not have a Dessert Menu. However, they are located next door to and connected via an interior doorway to The General Dough. Here you will find Churros, Frozen Lemonade, and Ice Cream. But the real highlight of The General Dough is their HOT, FRESH BEIGNETS. We LOVE Beignets, and were excited when a location opened in Florence that served them. We did not get dessert this time, but have had dessert from The General Dough in the Past. They had Great Beignets that made for a Fabulous Dessert.
Final Thoughts

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to 1720 Burger Bar. The Staff was very friendly. We liked the Environment and Atmosphere. The Food was Hot, Fresh, and Delicious. We felt like the Menu had a Good Amount of Variety. This was our Second Visit to this Wonderful Eatery, and we can definitely see ourselves dining here again in the future.
But the real Question, Was this the Best Burger Place in Florence, SC? To Us, It just might be. You can get a good Burger from Stefano’s, but there Chips are better than their Fries. Five Guy’s has Good Homemade French Fries, but their Burgers do not compare. At 1720 Burger Bar, we got both: Great Burgers and Homemade French Fries. That is a Win-Win.
If you will be in the Florence, SC area, we would recommend this restaurant to those looking for a great place to enjoy some good food.
A Hui Hou Aku! See You Again Soon!
