Chef Mickey’s Character Breakfast Buffet was our Dining Destination on August 23, 2024. We were preparing for a day full of spooktacular fun, which would include attending our 1st of 2 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Parties in 2024. We were excited to kick the day off with Celebration Vibes, and the Fab Five Characters.

Arrival and Location of Chef Mickey’s
Chef Mickey’s is located on the 4th floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort. It is conveniently located near the Resort’s Walt Disney World Monorail Station, and 2 quick escalator rides from the Lobby Level for those arriving by Car, Bus, or after making an approximately 15 minute walk from the Magic Kingdom. Parking is available on the day of your valid Chef Mickey’s Reservation for a limited amount of time for Guests who wish to drive.
The Contemporary’s 3 Wonderful Gift Shops are located on this floor as well as the Resort’s Arcade, and Food Court. These options provide for great fun and entertainment while you are waiting to be seated. Be sure to look up to see the Monorail arriving and/or departing from the Station sporadically during your visit. Do not miss the Beautiful 90-foot-high Mural that is the Centerpiece of the Contemporary’s 4th Floor Decor, featuring its beloved 5 Legged Goat.

Atmosphere
This Table Service Buffet Restaurant has an exciting high energy atmosphere. It features Hidden Mickey Touches all over, from the Artwork, to the Chairs and more. It is designed with an open air fill to match the style and theming of Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
Chef Mickey’s is all about Celebrations. Whether it be a Birthday, Anniversary, Milestone, or just being together in Walt Disney World, this experience will put a smile on the Faces of the Young and Young at Heart. Sporadically during your dining experience, there will be a Celebration Time, where Guests of all ages are invited to get up and dance with the Characters and Wave there Napkins in the Air to Acknowledge all the Celebrations in the Restaurant.
Characters at Chef Mickey’s

Chef Mickey’s is one of the few locations where you can dine with all of Disney’s Fab Five Characters: the Main Man Himself Mickey Mouse, Delightful and Charming Minnie Mouse, Exciting Goofy, Fun and Lovable Donald Duck, as well as Playful Pluto. We love to interact and have our Photos taken with all of the Characters. It is an added bonus that they are in their Adorable Restaurant Exclusive Chef’s Attire. (Characters and Outfits are Subject to Change.)

It is always Awesome to see the Characters interacting with each other. On our way out of the Restaurant, we got to see Donald and Goofy having a few laughs together.
Food
Breakfast Buffet Features

We choose to make Dining Reservations for a Late Breakfast. This gave us some time to rest that morning before our evening Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Even though we were one of the last families seated, They were still stocking the All-You-Care-to-Enjoy Buffet during our meal.
Chef Mickey’s has many Breakfast Options, both Traditional and Specialty including Mickey Waffles, plus options for Vegetarians and Vegans. Coffee, Tea, Juices, Water, Lemonade and Soft Drinks are included with your Meal. They have a Wonderful assortment of Pastries, Eggs, Grits, Pancakes, Potatoes, Sausage, Bacon, Salad, and More. The Buffet is Double sided with both sides meeting in the center and offering the same Breakfast Items.
Check Out the Chef Mickey’s Page on the Walt Disney World Website. Their you can find Breakfast and Dinner Menus, Pricing, and Hours, as well as to make Reservations, and check on the acceptance of the Walt Disney World Dining Plan.

Meal Thoughts from Chef Mickey’s
We thoroughly enjoyed our Breakfast at Chef Mickey’s. The Food was Fresh and Warm. Our Server was Friendly and kept our Drinks stocked without making us feel rushed. We felt like the Buffet offered us a good selection of things that we like and a few new things that we tried, like Churro Beignets. Plus, You can not go wrong with Mickey Waffles!
Final Thoughts

We have always enjoyed Chef Mickey’s for Breakfast and this visit was no exception. This is a Wonderful and Extremely Popular Fun Time Character Dining Experience. It is Recommended by Walt Disney World and Us that you make Dining Reservations if you want to eat at Chef Mickey’s for Breakfast or Dinner. Chef Mickey’s will sometimes offer a Walk-Up Waitlist but that is not guaranteed. It is better to have a Reservation than to get turned away due to them being at Seating Capacity on the Day of Your Visit.
We arrived at Disney’s Contemporary Resort a little early for our Reservation, which gave us time to check out the Gift Shops, and enjoy the atmosphere and surroundings of the Resort. At, 11:52 AM, We did Mobile Check-In through the My Disney Experience App for our 12:10 PM Reservation. We received a Text that our Table was ready and were seated at approximately 11:56 AM. Our Family had finished our Meal, seen all 5 Characters, as well as had our PhotoPass Pictures taken at the Special Chef Mickey’s Exclusive Photo Location by 1:13 PM.
We will definitely be eating at Chef Mickey’s Again.
