We LOVE the Christmas Season and all that it represents. So for Us, any opportunity to attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a No-Brainer. Which is why when we got the chance to attend not One, but Two Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Parties in 2024, We jumped at the chance. We were planning to be in Walt Disney World for both Thanksgiving and Christmas 2024. So, we decided to attend the Party on November 27, 2024, and December 20, 2024. We did not close down either Christmas Party in 2024. But, we have in years past and recommend it if it fits into your families plans.
What is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party?
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, or MVMCP, is a Special Ticketed Event that is hosted during the Christmas Season at Walt Disney World. It began in 1983, and over the years has become a Fan Favorite Event, with quite the loyal following. We attended our First MVMCP in 2006, on our First Christmas in Disney trip. We loved the Party and have attended several parties since then. The Event is held on Select Nights in November and December at the Magic Kingdom. Exact party dates are usually announced in June or July. The Last MVMCP of the Season is usually held during the last weekend before Christmas.
Ticket Prices vary based on the night that you will be attending. The last night will usually be the highest priced. Walt Disney World Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members maybe eligible for a Discount on Tickets on Select Nights. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Parties have been known to sell out in years past. The First and Last Parties are usually the first to go. In all of our years following MVMCP, 2024 was the first year that we have known of Walt Disney World hosting a Party during the Weekdays of Thanksgiving Week. Guests that are in the Magic Kingdom, that do not purchase a party ticket, will have to leave the park by 7:00 pm. If you are still in the park at 7:00 pm for any reason, then you will be asked to leave and escorted to the park entrance by a Cast Member.
Entering Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2024
Guests with a Valid MVMCP Ticket are able to enter the park as early as 4:00 pm on the day of their party, without having to purchase a Park Admission Ticket for the Day. The Party Hours are from 7:00 pm to Midnight. Guests will start queuing up at the Magic Kingdom Turnstiles at 2:00 pm or before for the Party. The lines for Guests entering the Party can be quite long. The Months of November and December can have a large range of temperatures, from Hot to Cold and anything in between. We recommend that you plan accordingly and bring Drinks with you, if you will be arriving with time to spare before the party opens, because there is little to no shade, and no drink stations outside of the turnstiles.
You will need to have your Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party tickets ready so that you can enter the party. When you enter the park, you will receive your Party Wristband, which changes colors based on the party night. After entering the park, you will be directed on where to go to get your Party Map. In 2024, we also received Party Commemorative Christmas Ornaments when getting our Maps. Please Note that in 2024 Ornaments needed to be picked up by 8:00 pm.
Getting Our Party Credentials
We were blessed to have been able to have Annual Passes in 2024. Our family choose to enter the Magic Kingdom with our park reservations earlier in the day to avoid the Party Entry Crowds. We were able to catch a few Experiences before each of our 2024 MVMCP.
On November 27, 2024, We entered the Park at approximately 1:14 pm. We caught the Festival of Fantasy Parade from the Train Station Hub area, before heading to Adventureland to get in line to get our Party Wristbands. We choose to get our Wristbands from Tortuga Tavern, and got in line at approximately 3:58 pm. The line almost reached A Pirates Adventure – Treasure of the Seven Seas. While the line looked long, it moved quickly. We had scanned our Party Tickets, as well as received our Wristbands and Ornaments by 4:05 pm.
On December 20, 2024, We entered the park at approximately 10:57 am, and got several things done before getting in line to get our Party Wristbands. Due to the good and fast experience we had in November, We again choose to get our wristbands from Tortuga Tavern, which is located across from Pirates of the Caribbean. The line in December was shorter. We got in line across from Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar, the Pirates of the Caribbean Gift Shop. We got in line at approximately 3:54 pm, and had scanned our Party Tickets, as well as received our Wristbands and Ornaments by 3:57 pm.
Decorations
The Magic Kingdom transforms during the Christmas Season. It becomes a Magical, Festive Christmas Wonderland. Lots of these Twinkling Delights are visible during Regular Park Hours. However, there is some Extra Special Garland spread around for Guests attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. In addition to the Traditional Magic Kingdom Decor, Party Goers will find Exclusive Projections, and Delightful Winter Creatures. Be sure to check out Market Street early in the Party for some Extra Special Christmas Wonder. And let’s not forget the real magic? Yes Adventurers. That is Right. It SNOWS in Florida on Main Street, USA in the Magic Kingdom during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Fun Fact: It is recommended by Us as well as Most Frequent MVMCP Goers to NOT try and catch these snow flakes on your tongue.
Dining and Treats at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in 2024
The Magic Kingdom offers some delectable treats all throughout the Christmas Season. Some, such as the Red Velvet Minnie Bow Cupcake and Mickey Mouse Gingerbread cookie, are available during regular park hours, while some are available exclusively during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. In 2024, some of these special treats included a Gingerbread Milk Shake, Chocolate Eggnog Tart, and Holiday Turkey Burger. These Treats were available at Designated Locations throughout the Park. In addition to Specialty Treats, several of the Magic Kingdom’s Table Service and Quick Service Dining locations were available during the party, though their hours and menus may have been altered.
We choose to not try any of the Party Exclusive Treats in 2024.
Our November 2024 Party Dining and Treats
Prior to entering the Magic Kingdom for our November 27, 2024 party, we had a Wonderful Late Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. During this party, we were walking down Main Street, USA, and walked past the Main Street Confectionery. One of their employees was standing in the doorway offering samples of the Mickey Mouse Gingerbread Cookie. Daddy and I both tried the sample, and were pleasantly surprised by how good it was. The Cookie was Soft and Flavorful. An added bonus was it not being a Party Exclusive Item, which allowed us to be able to get a whole Mickey Mouse Gingerbread Cookie the next day of our trip.
Our December 2024 Party Dining and Treats
On the day of our December 20, 2024 party, we decided to have a delicious lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern. After getting our Party Wristbands, but before the Party Officially started, we decided to get something to eat from Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café.
This Party Night was Cold, and we decided that some coffee would be a nice treat while we waited for the parade. Daddy saved our spot, while Mama and I headed to the Main Street Bakery to get our Favorite Starbuck’s: Caramel Brulée Latte. When we got to the door, an employee informed us that only one side of the Bakery was open, due to a Machine Breakdown, and that the wait would be approximately 30 minutes after we ordered. Since we wanted to see the Christmas Parade, we decided to postpone Starbuck’s until after the parade.
When we returned with Daddy to the Main Street Bakery after the parade, we were told the same thing. We decided to wait this time and get our Caramel Brulée Lattes’ as well as a Mickey-shaped Cinnamon Roll with Festive Icing. The Cinnamon Roll was a Christmas Treat, but not a Party Exclusive Treat, and it was delicious. The Main Street Bakery Staff was very kind and apologetic. They did a good job of getting people in and out quickly given the situation. They provided us with a picturesque opportunity. We stepped out of the Main Street Bakery with our Coffees right as the Fireworks were starting. To be with each other, sipping our favorite coffee, and enjoying Beautiful Fireworks while standing on Main Street, USA was a Magical Feeling that is hard to describe.
Complimentary Holiday Treats
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Guests receive complimentary cookies and refreshments during the party. These Treats can be picked up from Designated Holiday Treat Locations throughout the party. You can visit each location as many times as you would like. Allergy-Friendly options are available upon request. In 2024, there were 5 locations spread throughout the park. During our November 27, 2024 party, we choose to check out the Holiday Treat Location in Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe. This location had a fast moving line, and a large supply, when we went through. They were offering Buttercream-Frosted Sugar Cookies – Tree Shape from Cheryl’s Cookies and Hot Cocoa by Joffrey’s Coffee. Mama and Daddy both tried the Hot Cocoa and said that it was good. The cookies were pretty good. We do wish that one of the treat locations offered coffee.
2024 Festive Christmas Collectibles at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
During the Christmas Season, Walt Disney World will usually release some Christmas themed Popcorn Buckets and Sippers. Some of these may be Party Exclusive Offerings. In 2024, MVMCP was offering 2 Party Exclusive Popcorn Buckets: an Elf Mickey Mouse, and a Gingerbread House. Our family bought both of these Popcorn Buckets. We felt that they were very cute and fit in well with our other Christmas Disney Decorations at home. We also bought the Non-Party Exclusive Christmas Mickey Mouse Drummer Boy Sipper. He was the companion Sipper to our 2023 Mickey Mouse Trumpeter Popcorn Bucket. We love Walt Disney World Popcorn Buckets and Sippers, especially the Christmas ones, and use them to decorate our home year-round.
Attractions
Most Magic Kingdom Attractions were open during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in 2024. The Party also provided Guests with the opportunity of experiencing some Classic Attractions with a Festive Twist. These attractions included Space Mountain, the Mad Tea Party, the Tomorrowland Speedway, and Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor. We did not ride Space Mountain, but we did get to experience some of it’s Christmas Flair while riding the Tomorrowland Transit PeopleMover in December. I loved getting to see the Christmas Lights and hear the Christmas Music. It made riding the PeopleMover feel more festive. I am sure that it would have done the same to Space Mountain. We choose not to do the Mad Tea Party or Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor, so we can not comment on the Holiday Twists on these Attractions.
On December 20, 2024, one of our Main Party Goals was to ride the Tomorrowland Speedway. We got in line at approximately 6:55 pm, and had rode the Speedway by 7:10 pm. We have always loved the Tomorrowland Speedway, but have not done it in several years. I had forgotten how fun it was, and the added Christmas Lights made this an even better experience. We all really enjoyed this ride and would definitely check out the Party Exclusive Attraction in the future.
Non-Party Exclusive Christmas Ride Overlays
During the Christmas Season, the Skippers get Nostalgic and Homesick, so they transform the “World Famous” Jungle Cruise in to the Jingle Cruise. This Christmas Overlay Ride is available during Regular Magic Kingdom Hours, as well as during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. We did not do this during Party Hours. However, We did do it on our December Party day before getting our Wristbands. We love this Christmas Overlay and do it every year. There is a ride that I consider to get a Seasonal Overlay during the Christmas as well as the Halloween Season. That ride is the Tomorrowland Transit PeopleMover. While the ride monologue does not change, the Nighttime Views become even more magical with a Birdseye View of some of the Magic Kingdom Gorgeous Seasonal Attractions, and Decorations. We do this ride on the majority of our Magic Kingdom days, and had the opportunity to do it around the start of both of our 2024 Christmas Parties. 2024 Merchandise at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
Like other Special Ticketed Events, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party offers Valid Ticket Holders the opportunity to purchase Party Exclusive Merchandise. In 2024, this Merchandise could be purchased from the Emporium, located on Main Street, USA, and Star Traders, located in Tomorrowland. The Available Merchandise included a Shirt, a Spirit Jersey, a Lug Bag, and Ornament. Walt Disney World Annual Passholders also had the opportunity of purchasing Party Exclusive Passholder Merchandise, such as a Shirt, and Pin.
Partygoers, who have gotten their wristbands, can begin purchasing Party Merchandise at around 4:00 pm, but keep in mind that availability is limited and there may be a limit on how much of a particular item you can purchase. We did our Merchandise shopping during our November 27, 2024 Party, and the availability was still pretty good. However, we did see the merchandise that was still available on December 20, 2024, the last MVCMP of the Season, and it was limited.
Characters
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party provides Guests with the chance to meet a large assortment of charcters during the party. Some of these Characters are Familiar Favorites in Festive Attire, while others are more Rare and Hard to Find Characters. In 2024, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Daisy Duck all met in their Party Exclusive Christmas Attire. Partygoers had the opportunity of meeting some of the Princesses with their Princes, such as Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen from “The Princess and the Frog”, Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip from “Sleeping Beauty”, as well as Ariel and Prince Eric from “The Little Mermaid”. While the Princess are available for meet and greets during normal park hours, their Princes are not.
Characters We Met at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
We did several meet and greets during our November 27, 2024 party.
Our First Meet and Greet stop was the Town Square Theater. We got in line at 5:15 pm, and by 6:00 pm, we had traveled to as well as returned from Halloweentown, where we had a Wonderful Visit with Sally and Jack Skellington, in his Sandy Claws Outfit from “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas”. We also returned with some Awesome Festive Autographed Cards from our Friends.
Next, we traveled down Market Street taking in the Christmas Sights and Sounds. While strolling, we stumbled upon some of the Gingerbread Men from the Christmas Parade doing meet and greets. We got in line at 6:06 pm, and had gotten our Christmas Cookie Hugs as well as Photos by 6:22 pm. This included them taking a short break to refresh their icing.
Later that evening as we were about to enter Santa’s Christmas Carnival, we came across 2 of Santa’s North Pole Friends greeting Guests and taking pictures. We got in line at approximately 6:58 pm, and had gotten our Polar Bear Hugs by 7:09 pm. Our Family loved getting to meet these Cuddly, Playful Friends, and hope they return to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in the future. We choose to not do any character meet and greets during our December 20, 2024 party.
Santa’s Christmas Carnival at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2024
SANTA, WE KNOW HIM!!! And, he brought some of his closest friends and best decorators to Florida to help him transform Storybook Circus into Santa’s Christmas Carnival, exclusively for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and New in 2024. During this Seasonal Carnival, Guests had the option of meeting Santa and telling him what is on their Christmas List, as well as having some Sparkling Interactions with of some His Colorful North Pole Friends. Some of these Friends were taller than expected. Visitors wanted to keep a close eye out for a chance to see some of the North Pole’s most famous weather, SNOW. Hopefully, you packed those smiling faces for some Magical Snapshots, and your Tastebuds for some Delectable, Festive Treats, such as the Santa Belt Buckle Dessert. Young Partygoers also had the option to participate in some Holiday Crafts and Activities, like writing a letter to Santa.
Our Family enjoyed getting to meet Santa and his Friends. We loved the Festive and Fun Photo Opportunities. We also loved collected and playing their complimentary “Christmas Maracas”, aka Mini M&M’s in Plastic Containers.
Did You know that the Magic Kingdom has it’s own special mailbox that sends mail directly to Santa? But, it is only out during the Christmas Season.
Photo Ops and Magic Shots
The Magic Kingdom has many wonderful photo opportunities year-round. However, they add even more great options during the Christmas Season, thanks to Beautiful Decorations, and Festive Magic Shots. And that gets taken up another notch during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, due to Party Exclusive Offerings.
Step In Photo Frames
Walt Disney World invites Guests to Step into the Story with their Seasonal Step In Photo Frames. These Frames are only out during the Halloween and Christmas Season. The theming, location, and amount will change based on the season. These are Wonderful Festive Photo Ops, that are available during both regular park hours and party hours. They are only made better when they also offer a Disney PhotoPass Photographer to take a Family Picture Together.
In 2024, there were 3 Step In Photo Frames in the Magic Kingdom: Seasons Greetings, Mele Kalikimaka, and Merry Stitch-mas. I, personally, can not pick a favorite of these 3 photo frames. They are all amazing, and features some of my favorite things as well as characters. We did not do any of the Photo Frames during the party, However, we did get our picture taken inside the Seasons Greetings Step In Photo Frame on Thanksgiving Day 2024.
Magic Shots and Photo Ops
Walt Disney World offers many seasonal Magic Shots during regular park hours, such as Snow, Christmas Tinker Bell, as well as Winter Chip and Dale. Ticket Holders to the 2024 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party can also participate in a variety of Party Exclusive Magic Shots and Photo Ops during Party Hours. These Magic Shots and Photo Ops are located around the Magic Kingdom park. In 2024, some of the Exclusive Magic Shots included Goofy toting Gifts, Santa Mickey Mouse and his Sleigh flying over Cinderella’s Castle, a Mickey Mouse Snowman, and “The Muppet Christmas Carol”. We did not get any of the 2024 Party Exclusive Magic Shots. However, we did get the Photo Op with the Joy sign while waiting for the Christmas Parade.
Party Exclusive Shows and Entertainment
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party really shines when it comes to Party Exclusive Shows and Entertainment. These offerings feature Twinkling Lights, Festive Music and Holiday Cheer to inspire all to embrace the warmth, merriment, excitement, and child-like wonder of the Christmas Season. Please Note that in 2024 like in years past, the Magic Kingdom did offer select opportunities to experience some of the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Shows and Entertainment during the days between the Christmas Party and New Years.
Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration
Check Your Phones for Invites, because Mickey Mouse and his Pals are texting all of their friends to come to their Festive, Christmas Celebration. That includes some “Toy Story” Friends, an Amigo or Two, and YOU. They will be ringing in the Christmas Season through Songs and Stories, and maybe a familiar Suit. This Wonderful Season Spectacular is held on the Cinderella’s Castle Forecourt Stage multiple times during the Party. It is one of my absolute favorite stage shows on property, but fair warning, if you are anything like me you will end up with these songs stuck in your head all year long.
Frozen Holiday Surprise
Olaf wants to create a surprise for our “Frozen” Friends and he needs our help. How can you say No to an adorable Snowman? And something Magical Happens to Cinderella’s Castle during the process. This show takes place on the Cinderella’s Castle Forecourt Stage. It is visible from the Cinderella’s Castle Hub Area, Main Street USA, as well as some of the surrounding bridges. In 2024, It was not a party exclusive event, but party nights were the only nights when this show was offered twice. It was offered at 6:15 pm nightly, and also at 8:15 pm on party nights. We watched this show twice in 2024. The first time was from the walkway leading to Fantasyland beside Cinderella’s Castle. Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade
Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade features beloved Characters in the Festive Christmas Attire. Guests will spot beloved Characters in their Parade, such as Winnie the Pooh, “Mary Poppins”, and the Fairy Godmother from “Cinderella”. But be on the lookout for some Rare Characters such as Clarabelle, Clarice, and the Seven Dwarfs from “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”. This might be my Favorite Parade at Walt Disney World. The Music is Wonderful (and Yes gets stuck in my head year-round too). I love the fact that this Christmas Parade is at Night, which makes it even more beautiful with the twinkling lights. While you can see this parade sometimes during the days following the last Christmas Party, those Parades are held during the day, which in my opinion causes the parade to lose some of it’s Christmas Charm. We love this Parade, and strive to see it every year that we go to Walt Disney World during the Christmas Season.
Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show
Minnie Mouse is ever the Hostess. She has prepared a real treat for her guests at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. She has arranged for a dazzling, sparkling, yuletide celebration to be held in the skies above Cinderella’s Castle. This Celebration includes Fireworks, and Projections all synchronized to Classic Christmas Tunes that you will know and love. This is a Fabulous Show, that we try to see every Christmas Season that we are at Walt Disney World. There are many viewing locations for this Beautiful Display. Most people think of viewing this Celebration from in front of Cinderella’s Castle in the Hub and down Main Street USA. Some alternative viewing areas include Frontierland, Fantasyland, the Tomorrowland Bridge, and the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC). You can also have a wonderful view of these fireworks from the three resorts located around the Seven Seas Lagoon: Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. However, these resorts will sometimes limit fireworks viewing to resort guests only, so be sure to check with the front desk before making final plans to watch the fireworks from one of them.
Dance Parties
2024 provided Partygoers with the opportunity to get their groove on at two delightful seasonal dance parties. Both of these parties happened intermittently and featured beloved Disney Characters.
One was the Club Tinsel Dance Party, held at the Rockettower Plaza Stage. Guests could bust some moves with Santa Goofy, Max, Chip n’ Dale from “Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas”, as well as Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde from “Zootopia”. This Dance Party was held Outdoors.
The Second was the Disney Jr. Jingle Jam, held inside Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café. Guests could dance the night away with Timon (Mama’s Favorite) from “The Lion Guard”, “Vampirina”, “Fancy Nancy”, as well as “Doc McStuffins”. We did not participate in either of the dance parties. However, we did step into the Disney Jr. Jingle Jam for a few minutes, and saw Fancy Nancy. I did not get any pictures or videos of the Dance Party.
Final Thoughts on Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2024
We LOVE CHRISTMAS and We LOVE MICKEY’S VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS PARTY. For Us, this party is definitely worth it. We will absolutely do it again in the future, if we visit when it is occurring. It immerses us in the Christmas Spirit at the Most Magical Place on Earth. Our Family tries to catch as many of the Party Exclusive Shows and Entertainment as we possibly can. We also enjoy getting to meet the Characters and see what their Christmas Finery is that year. The Treats are good. The Christmas Spirit surrounds you and immerses you in all of the Warmth and Magic of the Season.
But Most Importantly, this party is about what really matters most: Family. Spending Time, Making Memories, and Just Being Together with the ones you love. This is the trick to making any Walt Disney World Vacation Magical: Focusing on Your Family being together in Walt Disney World.

Comparing Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Disney Jollywood Nights
Walt Disney World offers 2 Parties during the Christmas Season: Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and Disney Jollywood Nights. We did both parties in 2023 and 2024. We greatly enjoy the Christmas Season and find both of these parties fabulous. However, they are not to be compared in my opinion. They both offer different, but equally Wonderful Exclusive Entertainment, Treats, and Fun. While some of the Characters maybe at both parties, They will more than likely be wearing different outfits at each party. If you will be visiting Walt Disney World during the Christmas Season, We recommend that you check out one or both of these parties, if you can fit it into your trip.
